Add people to a book, one at a time.
The People step focuses on one required story role at a time. Each new profile and its reference photos are saved in Characters so you can reuse them in a future book.
Follow the story’s required roles
Each story defines the people it needs. Complete the current role, then continue to the next; you cannot add extra cast members outside those roles.
Enter the name, exact age, and interests
Add the person’s name and exact age. For the main person, add up to three interests: type one and press Enter, use the + button, or separate several with commas.
Add a clear front photo
A front-facing photo is required for every person. Optional left and right photos can help keep the likeness consistent. Take the photos together so hair, clothes, and glasses match.
Reuse a saved profile, or add someone new
If the character is already in Characters, select the saved profile instead of entering the same details and photos again. A new profile is saved when you continue.
Choose their illustrated look next
In Illustrations, create or reuse a look in the story’s exact art style and choose a version. Once per account, initial looks for your first book’s required cast are included. An ordinary new look costs 2 generations.
A saved person and an illustrated look are different
- Saved person
- Its identity details and reference photos. Reuse this profile in another book instead of uploading everything again; interests remain specific to each book.
- Illustrated look
- A chosen illustrated version for one exact art style. Reuse it in another book with that same style, or create a different look for a different style.
Before and after creating the project
- During the four setup steps
- Review every person before creating the project. To change a saved character’s age or photos, choose a different profile or add a new one.
- After the project is created
- That book’s cast is fixed so its generated pages stay consistent. Changes in the character library apply to future books.
What happens in this recording
The recording starts on the Front view. Next view opens the Full body, Left side, and Right side views in turn. Redo the Right side then opens a panel showing that one free edit is included and the generation balance that would remain after the edit. The edit is not submitted.
Warning: Keep glasses visible in every photo
Take front, left, and right photos together so hair, clothes, and glasses match. A mismatched set can make the character look different in book pages. A generated side view without glasses can carry into those pages too, so check every angle before choosing a look.
